Girl Power Themed Morning Basket

March is Women’s History Month and as a mother a little girl I take try to take this month each year to really embrace that. While I try to empower my daughter all year long I wanted to make this morning basket girl powered. I wanted to show her women as real life superheroes and show her the many character traits that make up great women. So our March Morning Basket is girl power times ten!

March’s Girl Power Morning Basket Choices…

The main thing we will be using this month is Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World and Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World Activity Book because I love the bite size pieces that it offers about and that the activity book follows along and extends on what we have read about each great woman.

For bible, we will be using Brave Girls Bible Stories. It uses 30 women in the bible to teach important lessons to girls.

For character we will be using Marvel Fearless and Fantastic! Female Superheroes Save the World, which by the way if you are a superhero fan is a must have!

For logic, we are using the Mud Puppy Little Feminist Memory Matching Set.

For journal, we will still be using our Q&A a day for kids and The Being Awesome Journal from our Wonder Crate Subscription.

Our read aloud book this month will be What is the Women’s Right Movement?

For the language arts loop we will be making a book of notable women’s quotes.

For the geography loop we will be reading Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls 1 & 2 and Little Dreamers Visionary Women Around the World and using a map to locate and chart the women we learn about.

For the music loop we will be listening to a playlist I made of girl power songs.

For the science loop we will be reading through Women in Science: 50 Pioneers Who Changed the World.

I have decided to add some movement to our basket each month as well, this month we are using some the Get Fit Kit Jr. card set I found at Dollar Tree.

Lastly, because I wanted to add some hands on fun to this basket I added in the Melissa & Doug Superhero Mask & Cuffs Craft Set so she could make herself a super women and a Girl Power Super Girl play dough set.
