Fall Themed Morning Basket

September Morning Basket

I don’t know about you mamas but sometimes I just need things to be easy and this month was one of those times. I love morning basket and was not willing to give it up or miss out. But college started back for my husband and I and we had birthdays all weekend and I just need things to be done for me. Thank God for Pam Barnhill and her ready made Morning Time Plans. So, this month a big portion of our morning basket will be coming to you from the Fall Morning Time Plans

September Morning Basket

For bible, we will be using the Father We Thank Thee Prayer from the Fall Morning Time Plans and I am also leaving our Indescribable devotional in the basket because she loved it so much. I expect to be asked to read out of it as well.

For logic, we are still using The First Grade 500 Question Game Book, we will do 1-2 pages a day just to get her brain warmed up and ready to learn and listen.

For journal, we will still be using our Q&A a day for kids. This is going to be such an amazing keepsake to look back on and I am so glad we have kept up with it for almost a year now.

For memory work, we will be using the scriptures outlined in the Fall Morning Time Plans which are all about gratefulness.

Our read aloud books this month will be The Railway Children and other books taken from our Passport to Adventures book list.

For the  language arts loop in addition to What Your First Grader Needs to Know, we will be using the fall poems in the Fall Morning Time Plans.

For the geography & history loop in addition to What Your First Grader Needs to Know, we will be using the game Flag Frenzy. This has become a favorite here lately an it is a great way to sneak in education while brain training.

September Morning Basket

For the art & music loop we will be using the Fall Morning Time Plans, they include picture study, music appreciation, and art techniques from Chalk Pastel (which we LOVE!).

September Morning Basket

For the math loop we will be using Bedtime Math: The Truth Comes Out for word problems and funny stories and Math Lotto to practice math facts in a fun way. The Fall Morning Time Plans include math but Emily is LOVING Bedtime Math so I figured why mess up a good thing.

For the science & nature loop in addition to What Your First Grader Needs to Know, we will be using Exploring Nature with Children. This is a year long curriculum that dives deeper into a topic each week it also includes a book list, poetry, music, and artwork as well. We will choose 1-2 picture books each from the list to accompany the topic we are exploring. Again the Fall Morning Time Plans suggest nature walks so I don’t need this but I have it so why not use it.

So the plan will be to do to daily items (Bible, Logic, Journal, and Memory Work) and then loop the rest according to the Fall Morning Time Plans each day. I also have the Rooted Childhood Autumn Guide that we will be pulling handicrafts out of for our morning basket time as well.
