Thanksgiving Themed Morning Basket

Themes make me happy, like REALLY happy! I love a good theme and I love tying everything into a good theme. I also love holidays and celebrations. So give me the opportunity to tie a theme and a holiday together and chances are I will go over board. This months theme is Thanksgiving.

November’s Thanksgiving Themed Morning Basket Choices:

For bible, we will be using the Indescribable devotional it is one our absolute favorites. It combines bible verses, scientific facts, and prayers is such a beautiful way that is easy for children to understand.

For logic, we are using Find it Fast Thanksgiving (this is included in my Thanksgiving Games Printable Pack), this is such a great brain training game that helps with critical thinking skills while still be so fun to play.

For journal, we will still be using our Q&A a day for kids. This is going to be such an amazing keepsake to look back on and I am so glad we have kept up with it for almost a year now.

For memory work, we will be substituting things we are thankful for using a thankful tree kit that I found at the Target dollar spot, you can find a similar on here.

Our read aloud books this month will be taken from Unit 27 of Passport to Adventures since this unit focus on the first Thanksgiving. Our main read aloud will be Thanksgiving on a Thursday.

For the language arts loop we will be reading poetry from Itโ€™s Thanksgiving, doing Thanksgiving Mad Libs, and writing our own Thanksgiving Story using these Roll a Story Cards.

For the geography & history loop we will be reading through National Geographic Celebrate Thanksgivingย which is a beautiful description of how Thanksgiving is celebrated all over the world, and reading the folk tales in A Year Full of Stories.

For the art & music loop we will be doing Thanksgiving Chalk Paintings from Chalk Pastel, which is a video art course that we LOVE!

For the math loop we will be using some Thanksgiving Math Task Cards that I found on Teachers Pay Teachers. Since the are fraction task cards I will also be throwing in our fraction bars for reference.

For the science & nature loop we will be using Exploring Nature with Children. This is a year long curriculum that dives deeper into a topic each week it also includes a book list, poetry, music, and artwork as well. While this is not Thanksgiving themed the topics for November are still very fitting.

I also have the Rooted Childhood Autumn Guide that we will be pulling handicrafts out of for our morning basket time as well and because we LOVE games I am adding in my Thanksgiving Game Printable Pack too.
