Playing games together is one of our favorite ways to learn. There are so many amazing games that it can be challenging to choose one. That’s why I’ve compiled this list of ten great games for kids of all ages to enjoy this February.

February is cold! That’s why it’s the perfect time for kids of all ages to enjoy these new game suggestions. Incorporate them into your homeschool lesson plans or use them to inspire creativity, imagination, and problem-solving on a cold winter day.
If you’re searching for a gift idea that doesn’t include lots of sugar treats this Valentine’s Day, these February game suggestions are the perfect alternative! Here are a few of our favorites:
Azul Master Chocolatier
Do you love getting chocolates for Valentine’s Day? Then you should try playing Azul Master Chocolatier. Players use critical thinking skills to strategize as they lay tiles in this challenging game. This version of Azul features 5 fun new variations to keep your family entertained and learning through gameplay all month long!
Chocolate Fix
One of our favorite February games is Chocolate Fix from ThinkFun Games. Like most ThinkFun games, Chocolate Fix is filled with opportunities to practice logic skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Plus, it’s an adorable theme for Valentine’s Day.
We play Chocolate Fix every year because it’s easy for Emily to play as a single-player game or together for our family game night. The adorable box of chocolates theme will make it even more fun to solve all 40 challenges together as you celebrate Valentine’s Day this February.
Chocoly
Another fun chocolate-themed game for Valentine’s Day is Chocoly from FoxMind. It’s a tile game that can be played by up to 4 players. Chocoly is easy to learn and compact so you can take it along when traveling. Kids of all ages will have fun with this logic-learning game.
If you love Chocoly, check out Icing on the Cake, another tile-laying game from FoxMind. It’s all about motor skills practice, strategy, and quick gameplay with a sweet cake theme.
Election Night
The third Monday in February is Presidents’ Day. On this day, we celebrate the contributions of US presidents. It’s the perfect time to play Election Night from Semper Smart Games. In this game, kids will learn about the Electoral College, how many votes it takes to be elected president, and get lots of addition and multiplication practice.
Five Crowns
Mardi Gras usually falls sometime in February, just before the start of the Lenten season. In 2025, Mardi Gras is actually in March, but that doesn’t mean you can’t go ahead and start learning about this fun cultural holiday! While you celebrate, squeeze in more math skills practice with the Five Crowns card game from PlayMonster.
Five Crowns is a rummy-style card game that will have everyone excited to see who can be the king (or queen) of Mardi Gras. It’s fun for kids from ages 8 to adults and perfect for big families because as many as 7 people can play at the same time. There’s a single-player option for families with just one child too.
Go Nuts for Donuts
Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to embrace your sweet side with games that feature sweet treats. Whether you love donuts or not, you’re going to have fun with the Go Nuts for Donuts game from Gamewright. Hearts Card Game

Another game we love to play every Valentine’s Day is Love Letter. It’s the ideal strategy game for February! Love Letter takes about 20 minutes to play and can be played by kids ages 10 and up. Kids who love fantasy, princesses, and strategy games will adore this one.
New Orleans Opoly
Enjoy more Mardi Gras fun with a New Orleans themed Monopoly style game. New Orleans Opoly is great for teaching geography and exploring landmarks in The Big Easy. The whole family will have fun with this easy game you can play in about an hour.
The Black Heritage Trivia Game
February is also Black History Month. This month, take the opportunity to learn more about Black History in your homeschool with great books, lots of discussion, and hands-on learning through gameplay. The Black Heritage Trivia Game is a classic trivia game for kids ages 10 and up that the whole family can play together.
Sleeping Queens
If you haven’t played Sleeping Queens or Sleeping Queens 2 yet, you’re missing out! We love these games and they’re filled with opportunities for math practice. Kids can practice addition, multiplication, fact families, comparing numbers, and more.
All this while they save the Queens in the first version of this creative card game or use the Queens to save Kings in the second version. Both are tons of fun!
Top Trumps: US Presidents
We love Top Trumps card games! These games are compact and easy to take along when we travel. Plus, they’re lots of fun and can be played together with other decks or individually. This Top Trumps: US Presidents deck will make gameschooling easy and exciting as you celebrate Presidents’ Day this February.
Truffle Shuffle
Another fun Valentine’s Day themed board game for February is Truffle Shuffle. Kids can learn how to play this card game in minutes and each game is just 15 minutes long, making it easy to squeeze into your homeschool days.
Players take turns selecting cards from a shared pile and make their own chocolate arrangements to “sell.” Special cards make sets of chocolates worth more coins and the player with the most coins at the end of the game wins.
Valentine’s Day Game “Date” Night
While we’re on the subject of perfect Valentine’s Day games, let’s talk about Family game night. Why not switch it up this February 14th and celebrate the holiday with a game “date” night in? Many of the games from our February game list make excellent two-player games for date night.
Hosting a game “date” is a good way to spend quality time with your spouse at home or squeeze in extra connection with your child by grabbing one-on-one time as you challenge each other with our favorite two-player games.
