June has arrived, bringing with it all the summer vibes we’ve been eagerly awaiting! Whether your family is going on vacation to the beach or just relaxing at home, June games for kids of all ages offer a fun and meaningful way to blend learning and play this month.
Introducing new games is one of the best ways to keep kids engaged in continued learning this summer. June is full of inspiring themes to explore together! National Camping Month is the perfect excuse to break out your sleeping bags and make s’mores.
Then, National Pollinator Week offers a fun new opportunity to explore the bugs and bees in your backyard. June brings summer road trips, beach vacations, and lazy days in the sun. Plus, it’s easier to squeeze more intentional play into our less busy summer schedules.
Whether your kids are in preschool or high school, you’ll find something on this printable list of June games that fits their age and interests. If your usual game shelf is getting a bit boring, grab some of these games for travel, rainy days, and indoor play on hot afternoons.

The Best Games for Each Month of the Year
We love family game time, but let’s be honest, playing the same five games on repeat can make even the most enthusiastic players groan. After the fifth round of Scrabble, someone will beg for a game without tiles (or spelling).
That’s why we are always looking for fun new games to play! Rotating our games keeps them fresh and gets everyone excited to try something new.
You don’t need to embark on an expensive quest for new games to create your own rotation. We’ll help you find the best affordable games for every month of the year with a printable list you can take shopping.
These games are perfect for family fun all summer! If you’re looking for boredom busters, road trip entertainment, or more hands-on learning excitement, this list of June games for kids of all ages has you covered. You’ll find game ideas for everyone from pre-k to 12th grade.

June is when many families take a summer vacation. That’s why we’ve included lots of games you can take on the go in this list of suggestions. Plus, you’ll find our favorite games for kids of all ages to celebrate Juneteenth, D-Day, and National Pollinators Week with learning and joy.
The Bears and the Bees
Let’s start the list with The Bears and the Bees from Grandpa Peck’s Games for National Pollinator Week, June 16 – 22. This game is played with a deck of cards that fits in your purse, making it perfect for all your June travel plans. Plus, kids as young as seven can play this game.
Don’t Bee Last
Another great game for Pollinator Week is Don’t Bee Last, winner of Creative Child Magazine’s Game of the Year. It’s a good choice for practicing strategy and critical thinking skills with your homeschoolers this summer. The best part is it’s easy enough for kids and still fun for adults.
Hershey’s S’mores Perfectly Toasted Game
Did you know June is National Camping Month? If you’re searching for fun learning games to take on your next camping trip, don’t miss the Hershey’s S’mores Perfectly Toasted Game.
Kids as young as age 6 can play this s’mores-themed board game. They’ll love the electronic glowing campfire. You’ll love how quick it is. Gameplay is less than 30 minutes and filled with sequencing practice for early learners.
Honeybee Tree
National Pollinator Week is truly the perfect opportunity to squeeze gameschooling into your summer. That’s why I just couldn’t resist one more bee-themed game for our June list! Check out Honeybee Tree from Game Zone. Kids as young as age 3 can play this game, making it a good choice for preschoolers.
Honeybee Tree is a blast to play, and it teaches children hand-eye coordination. If they’re not careful, they’ll let all the bees out of the hive! The winner is the player who wakes up the fewest number of bees during the game.
Juneteenth Cultural Trivia Game
The Juneteenth Cultural Trivia Card Game is a powerful way to introduce middle schoolers to the history, achievements, and contributions of Black Americans while celebrating Juneteenth in a meaningful, interactive way.
Designed for ages 10 and up, this game covers a wide range of topics, from historical milestones to cultural icons. Gameschooling topics like this sparks curiosity, promotes empathy, and helps kids connect with history beyond textbooks.
Memoir ‘44
Another great game for older learners is Memoir ‘44. This popular strategy game is best for ages 12 and up.
Engage in lessons about World War II as you play the game together with your teens to remember D-Day on June sixth. In this board game, you’ll recreate key battles from World War II using a modular map and miniature army units.
Professor Noggin Life in the Ocean
One of our favorite games to play in the car is trivia. It’s ideal for road trips, because everyone can get in on the fun. I like to grab a bag of gummy bears to reward players for right answers as we play, but you can think of your own fun reward for the winner too.
Professor Noggin cards from Outset Media are some of our favorite trivia cards to take along! They don’t take up much space and this Life in the Ocean deck is perfect for summer road trips and family beach days with kids and adults.
Rolling America Game
Are you planning a family road trip this June? Then, you’ll definitely want to add the Rolling America Game from Gamewright to your packing list. This dice game fits in your pocket and it’s filled with opportunities for kids to learn about geography, the 50 states, and boost math skills.
In this game, you’ll roll your way across the USA and race against your opponents, who are rolling at the same time. Think carefully to out-manuever your opponents with the fewest mistakes to win the game. It’s recommended for kids ages 8 to 15, but it’s fun for everyone.

Sail Game
If you’re taking a family beach vacation with older kids this summer, grab Sail from Allplay. Sail is a cooperative, two-player board game that’s perfect for families looking to build logic, teamwork, and communication skills.
In this pirate-themed adventure, players must work together to navigate treacherous waters, avoid sea monsters, and reach safety without being able to openly share their plans. It’s ideal for tweens, teens, and adults.
Sail encourages strategic thinking and collaboration, making it a cool way to practice problem-solving and critical thinking this summer. It’s a perfect pick for those inevitable rainy days, because it’s just the right amount of challenge to turn a washed-out afternoon into quality time together.
Seaside
Seaside from Hachette Boardgames is another great addition to your packing list for summer vacation. This wooden tile game doesn’t take up much space and comes with an engaging ocean theme kids will love.
Up to 5 people can play Seaside, all racing to see who can build the highest stack of blue and white tokens by matching sand pipers, crabs, and seashells. The best part? It’s water resistant so you can take it along to enjoy all day on your beach blanket.

Summer Camp Game
June isn’t just the perfect month for road trips and beach vacations, it’s also the month when many kids go to summer camp. Whether your kids are going to camp or hanging out at home this year, they’ll have fun with the Summer Camp Game from Buffalo Games.
It’s a competitive deck-building game where players race to earn merit badges and collect the most experience points to win. Everyone has their own deck of cards to play filled with nostalgic camp activities. Plus, with 8 decks and almost 200 cards, it’s never the same game twice.
Think Psych Dive In
Did you know Helen Keller’s birthday is in June? If you’re looking for another learning opportunity this month, spend time celebrating Helen Keller on June 27 and remembering her remarkable impact as an advocate for people with disabilities.
The game Dive In from Think Psych is a great fit for gameschooling on Helen Keller’s birthday because it focuses on building social-emotional learning, communication, and observation skills, all part of her legacy. You can pair it up with our Who Was Helen Keller mini-unit study to teach empathy and spark meaningful discussions in your homeschool this month.
Tinderblox
Another fun camping game to play this June is Tinderblox from Alley Cat Games. The best part about this game is that it comes in a small but durable tin box that won’t get damaged in your purse or backpack. Since it fits in your pocket, it’s ideal for learning on the go.
Kids of all ages can play Tinderblox, making it great for groups with varying ages. In this campfire-themed challenge, players will carefully stack tiny wooden pieces without toppling the fire using tiny tweezers to build patience, fine motor skills, and hand-eye coordination.
Trekking the National Parks
Trekking the National Parks has been one of our favorite educational board games for a while now. It just fits so nicely with our Traveling the Parks unit study. We love visiting national parks, but this game is a great way to explore the parks even when you can’t make the trip.
It’s easy to see why this game is a Mensa Select winner. Trekking encourages kids to learn more about US geography, history, and environmental science as they visit iconic parks and learn real facts about each location.
